Life will tend to reflect to us what we're putting into it and it cannot be all work all the time, a message clearly reflected to mom & dad this week when a dear friend and co-worker unexpectedly passed away. It's at moments like this when the reality of just how fragile and precious life is hits you like a freight train saying, "WAKE UP!!" We're not here forever and, you'd better make hay while the sun is shining. And make hay, I Mr. Rhubarb, do!
There is an art form to living life and we can either just sketch it with the image barely visible or we can paint it with all the vibrant colors of life. Maybe that's why I'm so colorful! People always mention that I have beautiful highlights around my face and eyes that seem to just glow and this is also true of my real inner beauty that mom sees and, tells me she sees, every day. So on this train of life, mom just jumped the tracks yesterday and there was no flagging it down! The events on our train of life gave us a cause for a short paws…stopping long enough to notice…REALLY notice what matters.
This moment is what we've got, right now and maybe you need to stop and go give your own dog or cat a spontaneous moment of love embracing all that they are. Embracing can be tricky to some of us shelter dogs for we have to learn again what love really is…what trust really is…what genuine affection really is…what a different life we get to live when rescued by those who love and embrace us just the way we are. I've never met a rescued shelter dog who didn't appreciate and love their forever home more than anything ever experienced in their life. Love, I will say it over and over, is truly the answer to all of life's problems. Give love and you'll reflect love and it will reflect back to you.
We're in the midst of recording a lot of orchestral music and I realized my very own life has played out like a symphony…smooth like velvet at times, harsh like a storm's roll of thunder at other times. But, on these spontaneous days of love, Rhu's symphony plays only one song... the song of love... in ANY key you'd like. I could sing that one all day!! Rhu-Hoo!!!
