I was workin’ her tonight to get some treats while her & dad were trying to eat and I can be pretty intense when I feel like they’re not paying attention…I start gentle with some simple fidgety kind of moves just so they’re aware I’m wantin’ something, (Oh & they KNOW) then if that doesn’t work, I might add a light “air bark” followed with my quick move of puttin’ my head down flat (that’s my key move for “yes I do want something” & usually works great) BUT, if that doesn’t work I step it up another notch or two by adding a louder air bark along with what mom says is my own fade out of softer barks, 4 all total… if THAT doesn’t work, I add grabbing on to one of their chair legs or maybe bite at the couch upside down – it really cracks them up but sometimes I get just downright rude! So as luck would have it, I grabbed a chair leg and the song “Rude” came on…Of course all ya gotta do is take the “d” out and you got it! “Why ya gotta be so RHU” Then we just heard Megan Traynor’s All About That Bass and mom says to me, Hey Rhu remember how we sing it?, It’s All About that FACE (my face of course!) and just now? “I’m so fancy”… remember my name…Like, anyone would forget Rhubarb?
My New Year’s resolution is to simply be able to show more people than EVER how easy it is to accept all of life’s gifts… in, whatever shape or form they come in they are all truly gifts–look at me and the struggles… I turned them around and challenged them instead letting them challenge me… you didn’t see me giving up! I am SO happy in who I am and where I am…Safe in the arms of my mom & dad’s warm hearts.
Please remember, we are all beautiful souls if you can just look beyond all the external false things that cover up our truest selves…It’s there. But, how can you discover the gifts if you don’t look beyond their outer wrappings? Life is a daily gift please take the time to open up to it and see what it’s revealing or perhaps "reflecting" back to you...Darn mirror!!!
Here’s to beautiful beginnings in 2015!
Happy New Year!!!
