Random Acts of Kindness

I see many people while traveling in my cart.   For most, it’s their first encounter meeting a dog who is young, not paralyzed, yet cannot walk, stand or sit.  I rely on my cart along with my king or queen navigators to get me around so I can interact with people.
Judging by the multitude of reactions from people, I’m coming to believe this is my purpose in life… that is, to inspire and to get others to accept their own lot in life with gratitude just like I have.
Because I am “special” I’ve been given so much - from my very first rescuer,  to the Best Friends “Guardian Angel” program (bestfriends.org) who straightway shot the arrow of love into my mom’s heart.
Had I been a “regular” dog I would’ve still been cute like I am and people would still be attracted to me but it’s really different being the way I am.   Mom was telling me that she fully believes this is exactly why I was given the body, heart and soul that I have…Along with the CUTEST OF FACES!!  There is a purpose for it all.  Here are just a few examples of every day occurrences that the Rhu dog gets to experience and share.
Just this week I received a big square box FILLED not only with AWESOME TOYS, but huge hand-made cards from a group of 7th grade children who follow my blog and current happenings.  Yes, yes, YES there is video of it!  This was such a treasure!!  Mom sat there and read each card to me while I played with my toys and pretended it was my birthday all over again.  It rocked my world!!  I haven’t even gotten to meet all these children but oh….SO want to!
Then there’s mom’s amazing chiropractor Dr. Rod Escobedo, in Costa Mesa, CA who adjusts me every, single, week, for FREE and yet he says that I inspire him!!
Eric was just a man in a wheelchair doing his best to maneuver around the squirrel holes, brush and dirt trails at Rhu’s park until our eyes met… I’m still not sure whose light shone brighter after our encounter but I do know we immediately understood what each other needed.   He laughed with delight as he ran his fingers through my warm fur… I too showed my obvious approval by slurping his arm and wagging as hard as I could.  I understood everything he said with his smiling face and gentle hand.
Then just yesterday, a man 85 years old came bounding over to all three of us saying he was 85 years old and felt like a 22 year old!  Moved by the “cart-trekking trio” he first offered words of big praise, then reached into his pocket and pulled out two clear packets that contained what was called an “Angel Star Worry Stone”.  The instructions say:  Give your worries to the angels…It is time to heal your heart…Everyday’s a new beginning, where love and hope can start.  The outer packets were tattered and worn however when the stone was pulled from the packet it was completely unscathed…not a scratch in site and the angel?  Seen as clear as the sun shining upon all of us. It just so happened that mom knew of someone in real need of one of these Angel Stones and it is in “someone else’s” hands now.
I don’t believe these occurrences are random at all but simply brought to us as gifts…exactly when we need them.  They show us that the true heart and soul is really pure… extremely generous… That if we can just let LOVE lead, the heart will absolutely follow.  Click the button below to see my video...

I loved the video. He had so much fun ripping the paper, and it was fun to watch. Dogs can sure rip toys apart fast. It looks as if he has a summer cut.

Oh rhu - once again I came to your blog to cheer me up and you never let me down. What a great attitude you have. So glad you are doing well! I needed a pick me up after reading about eve's passing. Was in tears for 2 days. 2 things that were on my bucket list...one to meet you in person and the other to meet sweet eve. If I remember, you and eve went "carting" together. Wish I could have been there to see it.
Thank you for your inspiration! You are a GREAT doggie!
Sending hugs from Pennsylvania!
