Could this be real? A GIGANTIC, AWESOME, AMAZING NEW TOY!! Rhu-HOO!!!! Let's get this cart in gear, mom!! Getting a little closer, my tail propelling me forward...closer still, my heart is now pounding in anticipation... Then I saw how big this toy actually was and... told mom to go first! She did of course but encouraged me to greet the big white toy. So I told myself it's just a toy, then reached out and touched his furry paw with my nose, real fast!! But...it...it did NOT squeak!!! WHAT??? Just what kind of toy is this? Not only did it not make a sound, that innocent looking BIG toy bunny moved on its own and reached out to ME!! Yikes!! What the....do you think I'm gonna squeak? 'cause I'm not, dude!! Not on your life!
Then I heard the familiar sound of the clicking camera and realized it was the Easter Bunny! Right there in the fur just for me! Oh Sa-weeet! What do you have for me? Mom grabbed the pic and we moved on.
Next stop? Why the toy store of course and right there at the entrance of "Muttropolis" sat a regal looking Golden Retriever or Lab (purity of the breed matters not one bit to me) so I go up to that guy waggin' my tail, reach out and touch him on the muzzle and just like the bunny, another imposter!! This one was of the ceramic kind. How was I to know? Geez, I like everyone and he was the same size and all. What is going on at this place?
Oh well, big breath in... then onward & upward forging a new trail down to the KOI pond where the kids all like to play. I'm sure to get a lot of attention there. Oh Yaaaay, REAL kids!! Thank goodness. Those real hugs and kisses, even pulling on my fur felt great! Another super cool thing? There were dogs! I mean lots of dogs to come up and visit with me. I kissed quite a few too! Oh and I warned them about that big toy rabbit around the corner so they wouldn't be embarrassed like I was. Then I met a really nice lady with a cute dog in her lap - she had him in her lap 'cause she was in a wheel chair like me! We got along fantastic and while me and dad visited, mom went back in the store and bought me some new toys.
I have been meeting a lot of new dogs on my daily walks and it is so fun to be just walkin' along, lookin' all cool... my whiskers hidin' the ball in my mouth pretty darn good. I wait for just the right moment then give it a big squeeze...SKA-WEEEK then watch the look on their faces when they think that squeaking sound came from my mouth. It's really fun to do that to the retrieving kind of dogs! You know the ones that like their ball better than ANYTHING even their food (crazy fools!) Yeah, I like messin' with 'em just as often as possible.
Mom sees to it that I go somewhere new as often as possible because that really lights me up. Spring is in the air and that's lighting me up too. I especially like it when I make so many people smile...A very easy task to accomplish when your the Rhu-dog AND something we could all do even if it's for just one person. It's free ya know and it sure makes people feel good inside. Happy Easter, Happy Spring...Happy Yappy EVERYTHING! Love Rhu.
