No, I did not eat allllll my cake at once though I wanted to.
I shaaared, reluctantly, I shared a piece with all the other dogs who came to see the number one birthday boy. And don't worry it was a cake from 3 Dog Bakery so it was made with all ingredients for pupsters like me!
Let me tell you turning two is NOT that different for a dog than a child - especially if they're spoiled rotten! Mom bought a separate bag of toys for the party dog guests to take with them as a parting gift and a way to say thanks for stopping by to see me - as if they wouldn't be thrilled to see me? But, every time mom gave the guest party-dog a toy to take? I took it from 'em. Yep reached up and just took it! Wellllll, I had to show them how the toy worked, right? What if they didn't realize it squeaked or, or worse yet, what if the squeaker wasn't squeaking...I could not send a broken toy home with them, right? Okay some I tested a little too long but I don't know about time so who cares?
All day long from early morning till late evening I had one party dog after another stopping by. Tiny dogs, medium dogs, and large. I had sooooo much fun! I have so many favorite moments that I can't list them all.
One extra special moment came when a little girl, Kaitlyn stopped by to bring me a toy. Gentle, sweet, Kaitlyn sat down next to me and in her tiny 6 year old voice asked if she could sing Happy Birthday to me. I melted along with everyone else. So with all her heart she sang aloud... she made it her own when she added some impromptu "cha, cha, cha's" in between each line. That made me so happy... Kisses to Kaitlyn!
We also went to my park and took a Yellow Lab friend with us who in comparison makes "Marley" look like he's taken too many doggy downers! But ya know what? I'm not really sure how bright she is, 'cause dig this, she REALLY LIKES WATER!! Why, she'll even leap up over the side of her above ground pool AND will swim to the bottom just to fetch a toy -She totally doesn't get water safety! Well uh, we all know how I feel about the water. I was highly considering hiring her to be my stunt double at physical therapy... you know, just for the water treadmill part oooooh doggies, that would rock!
Now when it came to the bike moguls, heh-heh, she couldn't hold a candle to this pup on wheels. She just stood there panting and slobbering with jealousy. Yeah she was one impressed Blonde I could tell.
By the end of the day, I was like a limp noodle, one VERY HAPPY totally overcooked, limp noodle. In my happiness I found myself just lying there in a pile of shredded wrapping paper, empty boxes, gift bags and bows...my heart smiling and knowing it was a day I will always, ALWAYS remember. Yes it was a "Happy Birthday to Rhu" kind of day.
Thank you to everyone who sent me happy birthday wishes online I love all of you!!!!!
There is a LOT of video footage so please allow me & mom the chance to sort it out but we WILL be posting it soon!
