Ah-yes, I love everything about spring especially the longer, lighter days. In fact, I have been VERY busy enjoying it.
It’s easy to understand when spring is here that all things just seem to come alive with new vitality! Watching what we have planted sprout and grow feels so refreshing. There truly is a real condition called Spring Fever and I have a big case of it!
I had my spring health check up and everything came back stellar! All lab-work shows me to be healthy as can be.
I was having some choking/swallowing issues that would cause me to aspirate, particularly with water. The intensity of how fast I drank was part of the problem so mom has slowed me down with ice chips and adding some pumpkin to my meals which thickens it up a bit. Another great treatment has come from the help of a canine chiropractor. My atlas was off considerably – probably from all the puppy play with Lana (so worth every moment of it). I’ve received just 3 treatments but they have helped tremendously. Mom’s always on top of those issues and immediately looks for ways to resolve them. So paws crossed, the issue will continue to stay in that stable place.
Been going out in my cart a LOT and because I’m such a people magnet, there’s never a lack of conversation – mainly questions coming from kind, well-intentioned people.
There seems to be this common thread that we’ve noticed over the 3 ½ years she’s had me. I call them the three ah’s.
The first type is rather a 3-in-1 combo package where the ah actually starts with an Oh… kind of like you when you see a cute bunch of puppies. People’s voices always go up a couple octaves when they’re doing the first ah. Or sometimes it's kind of like a wave...start high go down a few notes on the scale then back up to where they started...There are also those ah's that may start with the inflection of “poor dog” but quickly morph into the positive ahhhh—(going up the scale) once they see my tail wagging along with my squeaking ball and they finally “get it”. You have to witness it to know but once you do, heh, you'll realize I am soooo darn happy and loved…Then, their finish to the ah actually turns into an AH-HAH! moment. That’s my favorite one…When they finally get it! I am so happy, loved and cared for that how could you not be happy for me.
You know, it’s not often that in the span of a few brief moments we get those kind of life lessons with those three distinct AH’S. Then again, how often do you meet a dog like me! Take a note from the RHU-dog and appreciate it when you are loved for everything you are or, everything you are not. It's awesomeness at it's finest hour!
Just like the fresh breezes of spring that waft through the air, I am the poster dog of new beginnings… each and every day.
Plant your own garden of happiness, nurture it with love and see what kind of flowers grow and blossom long into the next season and beyond.
