Probably the most exciting is mom has found a paws-itively better physical therapy clinic for me to attend. The drive is to Los Angeles and that gets a big paws down for traffic but she doesn't care...says I'm worth every minute of it. There's a whole team of people there and even a dog "Tigger" that has what I do - though I'm MUCH cuter! I will be getting much more attention in every way pawsible and so my work is cut out for me but we're all excited to see what great things will come of this new adventure. Their approach is very holistic and the best part is Mom gets to come in and watch while I show off... she didn't get to before which always made her growl. Sooooo, three times a week they'll be kickin' some Rhu-fanny but I can't wait! Look out dirt moguls I'm out to conquer and flatten! If anybody wants to check them out their name is CalAnimalRehab.com in Santa Monica.
You know, things always happen for a good reason...I went in just for a simple re-check at my regular doc's and I got excited and wet my bed a little. The odor we all noticed seemed a bit strong so a urinary tract infection was suspected. The doc put me on an antibiotic that I've never had before which just so happens to treat intestinal infections. Well lo and behold it seems to have completely cured my intestinal teeter-toter that I've had. I've now been off of it for close to a month and not even a hint that anything negative is returning. So there! Whatever you were, you are history! It was never serious but an annoyance and worrisome to mom, for sure. With that appearaing to be gone, my diet is changing as well and I will agree it is REALLY spoiling me. Leave it to California to have a place that cooks fresh food just for dogs. If you want to look it up here's their website <http://www.justfoodfor dogs.com>
Did you know that there's diets made for dogs that are "hot"? NO not that kind of hot! Even though I'm all that and more... No, really hot like, temperature hot. I seek coolness always therefore I am considered a hot dog. So then I found out with this in mind, chicken is a no for me but turkey talks my language. Apparently beef is neutral. We're all learning but it sure is fun and it is making my taste-buds stand up and bark! Speaking of which... my bark is getting stronger too - another good sign I'm getting better. And you know when I really like to show it off? In the fast food drive through like Taco BellI. I wait until that weird box-looking thing magically starts talking..I have no choice but to respond so I start barking at it! I've tried to place an order (and none of this Chihuahua stuff!) NO way, it's YO, dude! Listen up and get me some tacos! But to my dismay no one has given me any yet!
I've been meeting so many new dogs on my park runs and I cheer more people up every time I go there and show off. My tail never stops wagging and you've never heard as many "ah's" in your life. I think they should change the name of the park to "Rhu's park" because that's what it is anyway. I'm happy sharing, but I OWN IT!!
On the toy front...well just like a kid, the no frills concept works the best. Give me a big paper bag or cardboard box and it lasts longer than any squeaky toy. I do have two Kong toys I'm pretty happy with even though they don't squeak but they do seem to come with a tiny treat that I have to really work hard at to get to. Oh and my coordination is really getting better too. I have a kong tennis type ball that I am catching it while standing there in my cart or laying on the ground...Everyone cheers with delight each time I snag it. There should be some video coming soon of some of these antics, I promise and hopefully one of my new PT when I get going on it as well. I start my new therapy this Tuesday the 27th of March so wish me great things.
Till I write again, my tail is waggin' to everyone at high mast. Every day I find plenty to smile about and so should you....pawsitively!
